Good news to those that love the 'Lime Light' hydrangea series, but have a smaller garden area! Proven Winner's has introduced a smaller, more compact version called "Little Lime" which is one third the size of the original. The flowers will open soft green, turn to pink and burdundy in the fall. 'Little Lime' will do best in partial to full sun.
Aspen Employees will be undergoing our second winter training session on Friday 2/17. Our first training session was based upon "The Ten Commandments of Customer Service" and carried a western theme. The presenters all dressed in western get up and our power point presentation had an "old west" theme. It was very informative and professional, yet still had a fun flair to it. This session will focus on quality workmanship, image and professionalism. It will be a Hawaiian based theme.

When shopping for your winter veggie plants at the nursery make sure you are picking out the healthiest plants to ensure the best production. Look for plants that are wider than they are taller. 6 or more leaves per plant is ideal. Leggy plants indicate over growth, can be root bound and stressed. All these factors will make the fruit production difficult. When pulling the seedlings out of the packaging slightly, the roots should be bright white. Even though it might be tempting to buy a plant with a fruit already producing, resist!
Consider Trashpooling at work. Do you fill up your trash can every day? No, then why waste a plastic trash bag? If every five people shared a single trash can, you would save 1000 trash bags per year! Consider dumping your desk trash can and consolidating the trash in one container in your area. Added bonus: Walking the few extra steps to the trash can is a fitness activity too!
