Drought stress affects a lot of tree processes both in the short term and long term. Here is a website with a short (5 easy pages), clear description of physiological effects of drought that may help you to better understand what drought stress actually is.

Just when we thought we'd pulled out of the drought, we've sunk back in...Don't count on the weatherman's predictions of rain because it's not happening!! Turf and Trees are really starting to stress especially considering they've just barely recovered from the last drought. Please make sure you're watering turfgrass a minimum of 4-5 days per week with your irrigation systems. Remember, Irrigation is not sufficient for watering trees!! Trees, even mature trees must be deeply watered a minimum of 1-2 days per week in drought periods.
Tick Removal
A school nurse discovered a safe, easy way to remove ticks where they automatically withdraw themselves when you follow her simple instructions. Read this one as it could save you from some major problems.
"Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on its own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.

The hot summer months are just around the corner, it is very important that your lawn receives enough water to stay healthy and keep that green color we all love. Drought stress can set in unless we act quickly to prevent this. Follow the program below to help keep your yard healthy throughout the summer.
