Turf Maintenance
We are applying Round 5 of our 7 Round Turf Program. Round 5 is a liquid application targeting nutsedge, broadleaf, and grassy weeds in the lawn. Turf Managers will also assess lawns at this time to determine if and what is needed as far as a Fall Lawn Renovation. Aeration, verticutting and overseeding being the common items to be done in order to keep the lawn full and thick. If you are interested in starting your personalized turf health plan please give us a call.

Plant Health Care
We are currently applying Round 3 of our plant insecticide program for the 2017 season. Round 3 is a treatment to control primarily spider mites on spruce, junipers and burning bush. Please call to schedule a consultation with one of our certified Arborist today.

Mowing Service
The mowing season has begun and will run weekly from now until the end of October. Due to the rainy weather they may be behind a day or two but will work weekends to catch up. If you are interested in the weekly mowing service, please contact the office.

Pesky Warm Season Grasses in your Turf!!!

Warm season grasses in our area are in most cases an invasive plant that nobody wants in their yard. The two common ones in our area are Bermuda Grass and Zoysia Grass.  If you are dealing with either one of these problems in your yard, NOW is the time to start taking care of this.

The first step sounds kind of strange, now that you are trying to get rid of it, water it and get it growing.  You can not kill off a non-growing or dormant plant.  When it greens up spray with a glyphosate product, or a more common name would be Round Up.  Wait 7-10 days and spray it again, to kill off any remaing green areas.  This could take a follow up third application if not all dead.

This process should start over the course of the next 3 weeks to ensure that it is not alive by the time you are wanting to seed.  Mid-August is a perfect time to seed, those of you who have irrigation.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your Turf Manager or the office, we can assist you with all of your turf needs.
